Ship was Destroyed in Action against New Dominion Attack Craft
Asile, Captain
Odelot, Engineer, Cook
Aldo, Security, Cargo Specialist
The Yadyam is a Pakled freighter which frequents a route between Katra Station, New Bajor, and Deep Space Nine. Odelot, the ship's chief Engineer and Cook, was once an enlisted officer in Starfleet, but retired from his position to help his sister run the ship when his parents became seriously injured in a Romulan attack. Now, Asile and her husband Aldo operate the vessel, while Odelot makes it go.

BridgeBrief History of the Yadyam
In 2275, the Burro Class freighter was unveiled by Torro Space Industries. It had been their entry into the mid-bulk long-distance freighter market, in direct competition with the Monarch class freighter produced by Eradict Warp Solutions. Torro was well known for building sturdy warp-capable shuttles, and their entry into the freighter market showed the hallmark of their design philosophy.
'Built to Last' was the Torro company slogan.
Eradict Warp Solutions had their own motto, 'Better. Faster. Cheaper.'
As it turned out, the Eradict slogan drew more customers. Their Monarch was not actually better. Nor was it faster. But it was cheaper, and so it sold like hotcakes, leaving the Burro Class freighter as a footnote in the history of the civilian starship industry. Only 5,260 Burros had been constructed before the line was suspended and Torro Space Industries returned to the business of making shuttlecraft.
The 4,926th Burro, once named 'Valiant Wanderer,' had the misfortune of running afoul of a gravitic mine near Sheliak space. Most of the crew were killed instantly. One member of the crew managed to put out a distress call before succumbing. The vessel, 'Built to Last' as it was, drifted along for many years as a floating tomb. Only a weak, malfunctioning 'Mayday' message announced the fate of its long-dead crew.
That was when a small family of Pakled came across it. The Valiant Wanderer was a much better ship than their old J Class, which they'd purchased from a Yridian salvage yard. Quickly transferring their things aboard, they cleaned out the dead bodies and claimed the Valiant Wanderer as their own. It was a fixer-upper, for sure. But in surprisingly good shape, considering all it had been through.
And so, the Valiant Wanderer became the SS Yadyam, and served the family well for two decades. Over time, they made countless repairs and improvements, to the point where the technology within the vessel only vaguely resembled the systems that had come out of the factory. Pakleds, after all, were an enterprising people. They were always finding new things to make their ship go.
The Yadyam continued operation with a modest profit margin until the elder Pakleds who operated the ship were injured in a Romulan raid. Their children took up the operation of the family business, and continue to run freight to this day.
