s'Hava Family: (relocated to USS Amalthea)

- Reela i-Llhweiir t'Hava (Romulan, f, aged 27) (2nd wife) - never was part of the Romulan military (Hobus was destroyed before she was conscripted) - homemaker
Bakitha i-Aehallh Mnael t'Hava (Romulan f, aged 12, half-sister to Bovin) her mother (Lenori t'Mnaeha 1st wife - medic on the Aehallh) died in childbirth in the days following Hobus' destruction
Bovin ir-California tr'Have (Romulan m, aged 9)
Reela was off-planet on a school trip to the Neutral Zone (was 14 at the time) at the time Hobus went supernova. Afterwards the children were picked up by the Aehallh to transport to refugee center - is how Darek met Reela. She seeing the older man struggling to do his duty while dealing with a newborn, she offered to care for the child. They kept in touch after she was dropped off at the Refugee center with his child. After his resigning from the dilapidated military following his 5th year, Darek returned to the Refugee camp to find Reela and his daughter. They stayed together at the refugee camp and when Reela turned 18, Darek claimed Reela as his wife. It was she who convinced him after a third skirmish at the Camp by rebels, that attempting to relocate to the Federation might be safer. She was pregnant at the time with Bovin. Darek agreed and applied for Federation refugee status for him and his family. They were accepted and Darek at being asked what his skills were and answering engineering was asked if he would consider joining Starfleet. There was some hesitation but fearing that he would risk losing their refugee status, he said yes. For the next 4 years he attended Starfleet Academy while his wife tended their children (lived in San Francisco). He completed his 3rd year in June of 2396 and was assigned as a Cadet to DS9 (for his 4th and final year). In November he was re-assigned to Katra Station and was permitted to bring along his family who had remained on Earth initially.)

Karinne t'Movel (color=seagreen) (aboard the Amalthea)
- Romulan, f, aged 99 (turning 100), mother to Lared (former military Sub-Commander)
- engaged at 7 yrs, married at 25 after her 5 yrs mandatory service, remained with the Star Navy until the death of her husband at Khitomer (an attack she also participated in) in 2346
- mother to 3 legitimate children (all dead due to Hobus) and 1 illegitimate child (Lared)
- rude and insulting; distrustful of anything Federation

- Romulan, m, aged 46, salvage merchant
- Karinne's illegitimate child (born years after the death of her husband) and denied familial rights to the s'Movel clan holdings
- cooperative with the Federation out of a desire not to have his family deported back to Romulan Republic;

- Romulan, f, aged 20 - works at mother's seamstress shop though is requesting to attend Starfleet Academy next year
The s'Movel family was living off-world (on a colony near the Neutral Zone) when Hobus destroyed the home-world. The father, Lared, ran a blackmarket merchant business of selling Romulan Ale to the Federation and Federation goods to fellow Romulans (in the guise of a salvage dealer).
Business had always been dangerous, what with the Tal'Shiar poking about, but things got lean in the years following. Lared tried to make a go of it (despite his wife's nagging to apply for refugee status and move to the more profitable Federation) both honestly and in the blackmarket over the past years, but the rebel in-fighting got a little too close to home when the fighting spilled over into the local school, just a few months ago putting his children in danger.
It was time for him to put family first, the Empire was dead and not likely to be safe for some time, so against his grandmother's wishes Lared applied for refugee status and was granted it in October. Their caseworker said that if he was interested in continuing his salvage business there was an opportunity in the Gamma Quadrant. Lared accepted thinking, it would keep his family safe. The family arrived in mid-December 2397 after nearly a 2 month journey across the Alpha Quadrant. The kids seemed to be settling in well. Their business was slow but since the Federation was providing food and lodgings free of cost, Lared couldn't complain. His grand-mother, however, had much to complain about and did so loudly and often. The wife has opened a Uniform Care and Repair shop.
s'Thraiin Family:
- Damut tr'Thraiin - (Romulan, m, aged 60) - Crewman (Ops) - deceased
- Caleema t'Thraiin - (Romulan, f, aged 43)
(no surviving children)
A former ambassadorial aide - when Damut sought refugee status, he had in his possession what he claimed were heirloom jewelry. He was allowed to keep these.
