ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION: Gregory's moderate stature lends itself to a slight, yet toned physique, relative to his overall body proportions.  Gregory's presentation is the epitome of conservative, and he is adamant about good personal hygiene.  Manicured brows crown eyes a beautiful light blue in color, flattered by his skin tone's pale pigment.  Gregory's skin is smooth, blemish-free, and soft to the touch. He does not shave regularly, resulting in a modest amount of facial hair, softened by delicate features that seemingly emphasize his youth.  Gregory's teeth are well-cared for, framed by full, peach-colored lips, and his finger and toenails are regularly manicured.  His hair is longer in length, with thick, healthy locks styled neatly in conformance with regulations.  When not in uniform, Gregory adorns civilian attire of a practical nature, preferring high-quality clothing of a durable build, offering comfort and functionality.  He favors fabrics in muted colors, usually earth tones, with few embellishments.  Gregory pairs his clothing with accessories complementary to the attire and has no piercings or tattoos.

REQUESTED DEPARTMENT: Medical, Counseling

OFFICER, ENLISTED, OR CIVILIAN: Enlisted

CHARACTER HISTORY AND BIOGRAPHY:

The only child of parents Matilda Benoit (née) and Martin Richardson, Gregory, was born on Earth in 2378 and raised in the north woods of Maine, near the Moosehead Lake region where Matilda and Martin were employed with the department of inland fisheries and wildlife as a veterinary pathologist and ecologist, respectively.

From an early age, Gregory joined Matilda and Martin on their expeditions, learning about nature in a practical way.  During these excursions, Gregory developed a genuine fondness for exploration and discovery while learning to appreciate the natural order of things.

Although proficient in other subjects, Gregory excelled in the sciences, especially biology.  His grades were of such a caliber to warrant an invitation to attend accelerated courses through the University of New England, where he took courses in human anatomy and physiology, psychology, and microbiology.

Graduating from secondary school, Gregory enlisted in Starfleet.  Upon enlistment, Gregory reported to Huntsville, Alabama, to spend eight weeks in recruit training, more commonly known as basic training, for the indoctrination and instruction given to new Starfleet enlisted personnel.  Gregory enjoyed basic training for its prosaic nature, leaning into its rigid structure and thriving in the training environments' strict adherence to order and regiment while appreciating its intense physical demands.

After the advancement ceremonies from recruit training, Gregory reported to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, to attend "A" school for the next 14 weeks to train as a medical corpsman.  Here, Gregory learned the basic principles and techniques of patient care and first aid procedures before his first assignment.  Additionally, Gregory learned how to perform emergency medical and dental treatment, serve as an operating room technician for general and specialized surgery, administer a wide range of preventive care and medications, and maintain patient treatment records, conduct research and clinical tests.

After "A" school, Gregory advanced to the rank of Crewman. He received orders approving his status to serve a five-year tour of duty within a starship or starbases medical department.  Presently, Gregory is awaiting an assignment.

SAMPLE POST:

Griz set the travel mug on the top shelf, swallowing a large sip of the delicious tasting coffee.  A long sigh followed as he surveyed what he'd accomplished in a short time.

Griz had tasked himself with reorganizing the medical equipment storage cart.  True, it was busy work, but Griz needed something to preoccupy his mind with an empty sickbay.  He'd started by removing and sterilizing each device.  Then, Griz wiped down the top and bottom shelves' textured surfaces, ensuring they were also sanitized.
After this, Griz organized most of the lower shelf equipment so that the most frequently used devices were positioned near its front.  This would make it easier for him during the hand-off with the Doctor.  Finally, Griz replenished the medication rack with the drugs they frequently used when treating common injuries.  Beside the rack, Griz placed a tray holding various instruments, including a medical tricorder, hypospray, and dermal regenerator.

Griz offered a satisfied nod toward the cart to signify the task was complete with either hand on his hip.

Returning the cart to its place against the wall between the surgical biobed and the main treatment area, Griz retrieved his beverage and approached the standing console to see if the analysis on Lieutenant Garcia's plasma sample was complete.

When Griz approached the console station, the display woke to its login screen.  His fingers tapping against the touch screen of the controls, Griz opened the analysis and studied its findings.  The Lieutenant's cholesterol levels looked good, with low LDL levels and HDL levels common for a man with his body max index.  Continuing his review, Griz noted an irregularity in Martin's white blood cell count - more than likely a byproduct of healing from the injuries he'd sustained during the ship's previous mission.  All of the other numbers looked good and were in keeping with the Lieutenant's previous medical evaluations on record.  Saving the results, Griz shared the report with the on-call physician on loan from Starbase 10 before signing out of the console and stretching, letting out a soft groan as he glanced around the quiet dispensary.

With half the day spent, now was as perfect a time as any to step away for a quick bite to eat in the enlisted mess lounge.
